Easter

We colored our eggs
with Linds at her house.
It's always fun to see the
different color combinations
everyone comes up with.

Linds made a Bronco egg,
and the kids would do one color
on top of another
to see what the final result would be.

On Easter morning,

the hunt was on.

They were surprised
the Easter bunny found us
there in our hotel room.

Found them all! Thank goodness,

I would feel bad for the maid who

came across an egg a few days (or weeks) later!

When we got home, the kids found

that the Easter bunny had also

brought candy to our house.

So, they got visited twice this year!

Melt in your mouth

So, while we were staying at the hotel,
they had the best peanut-butter cookies there.
They weren't the traditional criss-cross kind,
but had peanut butter chips in them.
Well, today, I was really craving some more of those
delicious morsels.
I found out there wasn't a recipe to be had
for those ones,
so I went on a quest to find
another.
I think I found it - the perfect recipe.
These are amazing.

Go here to try them yourself.

Spring Break - Part 3

We kidnapped Linds
for lunch one day
and caught a flick.
The kids were dying
to see
Horton Hears a Who.

It's a great movie,
destined to become another classic.
We loved it!

Spring Break - Part 2

Of course, one of the week's highlights,
and the first thing we did when we got there,
was to swim in the hotel pool.

It's a good thing we were the
only ones there.
I think we scared everyone else away.

But it was fun for us, anyway,
and very relaxing!

(London pulled this pose just
as we were leaving,
she's so funny.)

Spring Break - Part 1

The kids and I
wanted a little getaway for the week
of spring break.
So, we took a little trip
down to Ft. Collins.
It was great to have a nice place to go.
And a sister/aunt who hooked us up
with some deLuXe accommodations!

We were spoiled!
It made a nice
"home away from home"
for the week.
Thanks, Linds!

All figured out

Since it was a snowy, rainy day today,
London wanted to make a house
with the couch pillows.
However, she was having trouble
getting them to
stand up by themselves.
I went in to see what was the matter.
She said,"It doesn't work!
It needs new batteries."
I said, "It needs new batteries?"
She said, "Yeah, it needs new batteries to stay.
It doesn't stay!"

So we worked on it,
and got the pillows to stay.

Thank goodness!

(I think I need new batteries!)

2 peas in a pod

London took Jake for a walk today.
I guess it wore them both out.
This is what I found when I
came downstairs today.

I think she's got a new best friend.

Expectations

Is it just me,
or is it kind of
asking a bit much
to give kindergartners
homework?

What happened to the good old days,
where you just got to be a kid
and play after school?

Disguises

Meet the
Crazy Family!
This was our
family home evening lesson,
given by Austin.
They're looking through
their "spiritual eyes".

We had fun making them!

Concert

Last night
was the music concert
at the middle school.
Austin sang with the
5th grade choir.
They sounded awesome.

They sang
three songs
that were
fairly difficult,
and did a great
job. Austin
enjoys
music so much.
It's fun to
watch his
talent
develop.

Story time

We made it to story time
at the library today.
London loves the library.
She really likes that they
have a kids computer just her size.

Today for story time
they were celebrating
Dr. Seuss's birthday.

London got to make

a Cat in the Hat hat.

It was a mini getaway
being lost
in the stacks
and reading the
childrens'
stories.

We could've
spent hours.

Getting out

Decided to go
for a little walk today.
It was a test of my
coordination to push a stroller
with one hand
and hold a leash with the other.
Especially since both
kept wanting to veer
in separate directions.
Thought the park might be a perfect
place for us to rest and have some fun.

But the sign rained on our little parade.

Well, sorry buddy.

It was good exercise for us, anyway.

2 of us, that is.

Game plan

A few minutes before bedtime,
the wrestling match began.
It was dad
against Austin, Sydney and Jordan.
London even jumped on top of the pile.
So while Austin was getting schooled,
the girls retreated
and decided to come up with
a plan.
This was Jordan's:

And Sydney's idea:

I don't know how well it worked,

but in the end,

there was plenty of squealing and giggling going on.
